The New Year is a great opportunity to set some goals and work out how you can achieve those goals.
Most people start the new year with the best of intentions - "lose weight, get fit, spend more time with the kids".
Most people fail.
Non-specific goals are often the problem - lose weight is a fine goal to have, but it is generally too vague to be effectively. You might know how to lose weight, but at the first hiccup - a bad day at work - you drop back to old habits of skipping training, having a muffin with your afternoon coffee - or losing focus.
The classic way of defining goals is the SMART goal process.
